The way of thinking is very much different between them although both are Chinese.Chinese in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia are all different in their thinking, value, taste, lifestyle, etc. You have to understand and accept this simple fact before you try to understand overseas Chinese. China people will feel insulted with this kind of action from Malaysia government.My point is if you find a country you dislike, do not visit them. Those bad apple is a very small percentage.As you know, a small black spot on a white paper attracting more attention. A Chinese saying says bad news easily propagate to a thousand mile while good news just sit inside the house. Take a mirror to see yourself first about your own quality before commenting on others.You are quite ignorant about Malaysian Chinese. Malaysian Chinese are basically can be classified into two groups. One is English educated who know nothing about Chinese language and another group is Chinese educated who love their mother tongue and culture as you. I do not which group of Malaysian Chinese you have met in Australia. Malaysian Chinese will usually say they are Malaysian when they are abroad and Chinese when they are in Malaysia. I also hope in one day all people in Malaysia calling themselves Malaysians instead of Malay, Chinese, Indian, etc. Do you like Hui people from China calling themselves Hui instead of Chinese as you when they meet up with foreigners like me.You just feel offended and perplexed when Malaysian Chinese calling themselves Malaysian.
